Last night we had Dustin Brown from the Citizens on Patrol Program come out to Southdale to tell us about what they do—and what we might do, too.
Citizens on Patrol is a non-profit program funded largely by the province which trains citizens to patrol their neighbourhoods in a safe manner, reporting suspicious activity to the authorities, and providing a citizen presence on the streets to reduce criminal activity.
The program is eager to help concerned citizens get a group going in Southdale, and the informational meeting had a bunch of attendees who were interested in getting things moving.
If you would be interested in helping form a neighbourhood patrol—either going on patrols yourself or providing support for those who do—please chime in on a comment below. The comments won’t be published, but we will contact you shortly about next steps.
Hi. I am on the website and I’m on the COPP article, but I cannot find the volunteer application form? Can you please send or post a link to the form?
