Sneak peek at Dave & LaVerne’s!

On Friday, November 8th, Southdale Residents Group chair, Kevin Dickson, and vice-chair, Karine Drobko, had the pleasure of meeting with Darin Amies (President) and Chris Manalastas (Vice President) of True Hospitality, the team behind the soon-to-be-open Dave & LaVerne’s—a brand new dining experience that’s about to become a community favourite!

About True Hospitality:
True Hospitality is the powerhouse behind several popular restaurants in the area, including:

• James Avenue Pumphouse
• Junction 59 Roadhouse
• CIBO Waterfront Café
• Bistro 330 (La Salle)
• Sharks Club Sports Bar (in partnership with True North)

With such a stellar track record, we’re all eager to see what they have in store for us at Dave & LaVerne’s!

What to Expect at Dave & LaVerne’s:
The new restaurant will initially be open for both lunch and dinner, with the following proposed hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 11 AM – 11 PM
• Friday & Saturday: 11 AM – Midnight
• Sunday: 11 AM – 10 PM

Though renovations have taken longer than anticipated (as often happens when working with an older building), it’s clear Darin and Chris are committed to ensuring the space is perfect for guests! They’re now aiming for a mid to late December opening. We can’t wait!

Menu Sneak Peek:
We got an exclusive look at the menu, and it’s packed with a variety of delicious options to suit all tastes! The restaurant will feature a cozy sit-down bar, lounge seating, and booths for a comfortable, casual dining experience. The floor plan is still being finalized, but we’re sure it will offer something for everyone.

And here’s a heartwarming touch: the restaurant is named after Darin’s parents, Dave and LaVerne—an homage that makes this new venture even more special.
